Financial Planning & Analysis Vice President

Position Overview:
Ouster, Inc. is looking for a full-time Financial Planning & Analysis Vice President to join the Finance team in our San Francisco office, reporting to the CFO. We need a strategic leader responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. This role will play a critical role in communicating with the executive team and other key stakeholders throughout the organization, leveraging insights on business data to drive decision making and performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the FP&A team, overseeing financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Partner with and provide data-driven strategic and operational finance advice to executive leaders and business partners
- Be an analytical thinker with the ability to identify strategic risks and opportunities, synthesize complex ideas into clear frameworks, and use analysis to drive strategic priorities
- Conduct variance analysis and scenario planning to understand financial outcomes
- Monitor industry trends with the curiosity to understand and communicate any potential implications on our business
- Establish and maintain KPI tracking and strengthen operational infrastructure across all departments
- Own key components of monthly/quarterly Leadership Team and Board of Directors meeting presentations, as well as public company requirements such as earnings reports, process documentation, investor communications, etc
- Prepare and analyze management presentations, including BoD decks, annual budget, and Quarterly Business Reviews
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience (e.g. financial planning & analysis, strategic finance, corporate finance,corporate accounting, investment banking) with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Expert modeling proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets required
- Proficiency in financial systems: Planful (fka Host Analytics, preferred), Netsuite, and Salesforce
- Public company FP&A experience
- Experience in manufacturing company
- Strong executive leadership skills with experience partnering at the board, investor, and executive management levels
- Proven mastery of large data handling and tool-driven data analysis
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deliverables.
- Mindset of continuous process improvements with focus on questioning the status quo.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience in cultivating collaborative working relationships with teams across an organization
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field
- High level of initiative and work ethic
- Comfortable working in cross functional teams
- Solid accounting understanding required
