Senior E-Commerce & Web Operations Manager
At Ouster, we build sensors and tools for engineers, roboticists, and researchers, so they can make the world safer and more efficient. We've transformed LIDAR from an analog device with thousands of components to an elegant digital device powered by one chip-scale laser array and one CMOS sensor. The result is a full range of high-resolution LIDAR sensors that deliver superior imaging at a dramatically lower price. Our advanced sensor hardware and vision algorithms are used in autonomous cars, drones and many other applications. If you’re motivated by solving big problems, we’re hiring key roles across the company and need your help!
Role Overview
We are seeking an execution-focused Senior E-Commerce & Web Operations Manager to co-own the delivery of our web store platform and manage our corporate digital presence as we grow our direct online channel.
In this role, you will be the commercial and operational engine behind our direct online sales channel. You will adopt and scale the proven webstore playbook established by our Stereolabs team, drive self-service adoption for our REV8 sensors and accessories, and rigorously manage our corporate website (Ouster.com) and agency partners to ensure high efficiency, minimal scope creep, and fast execution. Your work will enable Ouster to reach and support customers around the world we previously couldn't serve.
This is an individual contributor role, partnering closely with cross-functional teams, our Stereolabs team in Paris, and external agency and implementation partners.
Responsibilities
Webstore Ownership & GTM Execution
- Co-Own Project Delivery: Partner with cross-functional teams (Product Strategy, Sales, IT, Legal, Audit, Finance, and Support) to help deliver our webstore launch in a phased approach, then drive the store's day-to-day operations after go-live.
- Playbook Execution: Adopt and adapt the operational e-commerce workflow from our Stereolabs team (Paris) using Shopify and our implementation partner.
- Catalog Management: Own SKU onboarding, implementation of pricing and promotions (in partnership with sales and product strategy), bundles, datasheets, and customer-facing descriptions for Ouster REV8 sensors, cables, and components. This includes managing ongoing changes to SKUs, pricing, and product content as applicable.
- Revenue & Self-Service Growth: Build campaigns and conversion flows to route low-touch, long-tail accounts through self-service e-commerce.
- Performance Reporting: Define and report on webstore KPIs (traffic, conversion, order volume, self-serve revenue, quote deflection) and use them to prioritize improvements.
Corporate Web Operations & Agency Management (Ouster.com)
- Website Unification: Lead the consolidation of Stereolabs.com into Ouster.com to streamline our global digital footprint and domain architecture. This includes content migration, redirect mapping, and preservation of search rankings and inbound traffic.
- Agency & Vendor Management: Directly manage our external web agency partners with strict oversight on scope, deliverables, speed, and budget. Shift routine work in-house and right-size the agency engagement over time.
- In-House CMS Management: Use Sanity CMS to swiftly build and launch new landing pages, product pages, and digital assets internally without relying heavily on agency development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years owning e-commerce and/or web operations within B2B Hardware, B2C Consumer Tech, B2B Software, Industrial Tech, Marketplaces, or Semiconductor sectors.
- E-Commerce Stack: Hands-on admin experience with Shopify / Shopify Plus, product information architecture, catalog management, and checkout flows.
- Modern CMS & Web Stack: Proven experience with Sanity (or other headless CMS platforms) and managing web design/build projects.
- Site Migrations: Has led at least one domain consolidation or site migration with SEO preserved.
- Agency Management: Demonstrated track record of holding creative and technical agencies accountable to strict budgets, SOWs, and delivery timelines, including cutting agency spend or bringing work in-house.
- Mindset: Pragmatic operator who prioritizes execution and speed-to-market over perfection or unnecessary redesigns.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working across time zones with teams in the US and France.
The base pay will be dependent on your skills, work experience, location, and qualifications. This role may also be eligible for equity & benefits. ($130,000 - $170,000)
